Boston is one of the most ethnically diverse cities in the nation, an education and medical mecca, among other things. Unfortunately, Boston is polarized along the lines of race.
We remain disappointed that, according to a Federal Reserve Study, the average net worth of a Black family is $8, while the average net worth of a white family is approximately $260,000, a distinction realized through home ownership.
Systemic racism persists. Yet we believe that we can address issues related to race and poverty through collective problem-solving and dialogue. We seek generational change that will impact Bostonians and provide a blueprint for racial healing for the nation.
